What you should ACTUALLY get your bridal party
When it comes to choosing gifts for your bridal party, the options can seem endless. As wedding planners, we’ve seen it all—from the heartfelt to the hilariously impractical. To help you navigate this important decision, here’s a comprehensive guide on what to get your bridal party, and more importantly, what to avoid.
Personalized Keepsakes
Personalized gifts add a special touch that shows you’ve put thought into their presents. Consider custom items like a stainless steal tumbler, custom jewelry, personalized make up bag or jewelry case, monogrammed robes, or embroidered tote bags.
For the guys, this may be a custom flask, whisky glass or even bags boards. These serve as memorable keepsakes of your special day.
Pro Tip: Stay away from anything that says bride tribe or bridesmaid as your main gift, sunglasses or sashes are fine. These items automatically limit themselves to only the day of wedding use. Always use your tribe’s actual names when customizing anything.
Some of our favorite places to shop for personalized items are Etsy and Amazon. However if you are looking for purchase from someone close to your home, check out facebook to find a locally made group to support a small business.
Practical Items
Think about what your bridal party might need on the wedding day. Practical gifts ensure that your bridal party feels prepared and comfortable. Some brides have paid for part (...or all) of their bridesmaids’ dresses, nail, hair or makeup appointments for the day of. We have also seen some great getting ready attire, such as pjs or robes be gifted….note: these don’t have to be personalized…some of the best matching pajama sets have come straight from Target. We have also seen reception attire, such as matching footwear like a pair of converse or sneakers, to ensure everyone is comfortable and living the night on the dance floor.
For the guys, think about something your crew may use a lot. Some favs we have seen are yeti’s (customized or not), backpack coolers or even paying partially for their day of attire.
Experiences
Give the gift of a shared experience. Spa day vouchers, cooking classes, or tickets to a concert can be wonderful ways to celebrate together. While concert tickets could be an idea for both your bridesmaids and groomsmen, a spa day may not be up the guys alley 😉 … Consider paying for a round of golf or something that is of interest to your crew the day before or morning of. This approach can be especially meaningful if you and your bridal party share a common interest.
Once you have your perfect gifts selected and purchased, always include a handwritten note or card to each person who is a part of your wedding party. While simple, it also is a profound way to show how much you value their support.
Choosing the right gifts for your bridal party is all about balance—finding something that’s both meaningful and practical. You want them to be able to use whatever it is you choose after your wedding. Take the time to consider their tastes and interests, and remember that the thought and effort you put into their gifts will be truly appreciated. After all, these are the people who are by your side on one of the most important days of your life, and they deserve to know how much their support means to you.
Happy planning, and here’s to finding the perfect way to show your gratitude!
